3 Things I Did This Week To Build My Business

By:

There are tons of ways to make money online. I know it can be overwhelming at times. There are so many offers, so many e-books, and so much information out there that sometimes I don't know where to start.

I just wanted to share 3 things I did this week to build my business. They are not making me rich over night, but they are building a foundation.

1. I started an MSN AdCenter campaign with an affiliate program.

AdCenter is basically MSN's version of AdWords. Google Adwords is great, but if you are trying to advertise as an affiliate it can be frustrating. I find MSN a good alternative to AdWords.

I went to ClickBank and chose 2 products, did some keyword research, and set up 2 campaigns. One turned out to be profitable, the other did not. I turned off the unprofitable one.

2. I hired out some link building.

I have a content site on a specific niche a few months ago. Don't let the phrase "content site" scare you. The site is basically 20 500-word articles. It has slowly been increasing traffic. To help it along, I hired out a writer to submit 2 articles per week to article directories.

Backlinks are obviously very important to get good rankings in the search engines. A terrific way to get backlinks is by submitting articles. With articles, consistency is key. I used Elance to find a writer.

I've used Elance many times to find writers for projects. Some are better than others. It may take time to find one that fits your style. For this particular project, I found a reliable one that I can trust long-term.

3. I planned a test for different monetization methods.

Just because your site gets traffic doesn't mean you'll make money. You need to have a monetization plan in place, and what works for one site doesn't always work for all.

The content site I mentioned above is getting some traffic. But the affiliate program I am promoting on it is not getting click-throughs. So this week I came up with some alternative methods such as AdSense and collecting email addresses. Now I need to follow through and put them in place.

The point of this article is to get you to do something. Sometimes when we have too many options we don't choose any of them. We become paralyzed. If you have been in Internet Marketing for any time at all, you know what I mean.

This week, do something. Pick 2 or 3 things and commit fully to them. Start a PPC campaign, build links, write articles, or do whatever you feel will build your business. Once you get going, you'll feel a sense of satisfaction that will drive you to do even more!
