Art can come in a variety of forms for the collector really decides what is art to them. Many people consider art to only be something which is painted, like a portrait. Some might give you a concession for photography. Really, though, anything that can be used as a decoration could be considered to be art by someone. This is why history buffs might discover that they have a passion for art about the different American presidents. These pieces of art can range from anything like actual painted portraits to photographs of the more recent presidents. You could even collect documents which were written by the presidents and hang those on the wall. Any of these pieces would become even more valuable if they were autographed. America has had a long history of presidents and they have signed many different items within their lifetimes. It is only natural that they might have signed some photos or portraits for different purposes. Additionally, you could easily attempt to collect different documents which came from the President's office as pieces of autographed presidential art. Memos are often signed and sometimes these memos could filter out and become art in themselves. Autographed presidential art does not have to come solely from a President, however. The Vice President also could produce a number of items with their signature on it which could all turn into artworks. Either of these highly placed, influential people in the White House have the ability to make any history buff and art collector happy. Many people wouldn't automatically consider these politicians to be celebrities, but they often have just as many fans and followings as the most popular Hollywood celebrity, if not more. These celebrities have a direct influence over the lives of the people and because of this, people are often very excited over the prospect of meeting them. Unlike with celebrities, autographs from the President can often be given on a number of things. Dollar bills frequently have signatures from both the President and often from the Secretary of the Treasury. Programs might be signed at events which the President attended as well as a personal letter that one might receive from the President if you wrote in to him. Of course, autographed photos of the President are also incredibly popular, as with any movie or sports star. Those photos can often be a direct representation of the person in question. The same is true for the Presidents. Often, former Presidents or Vice Presidents will give out more autographs after their term in office ends. They are under such a high level of protection during their normal term in office that they often do not get much opportunity to meet with the common people. After their terms, however, they can do more speaking events and meet people and during this time, you could build the biggest collection of presidential autographs. Anything from books to photos of this person could be autographed, giving it a sense of value that a normal portrait of the President would not bring.
