Business cards can be a powerful tool to get your company contacts and to make people aware of what you do and what your name is. It might sound obvious but people want to know clearly what you offer, no one wants to feel confused, if someone needs a service they want to be able to understand your message. Today it is difficult to stand out in the crowd with business cards so here we look at the basic information you should supply on your card to maximise interest in your company. One thing you can add to business cards is the individuals name, not every type of card needs it but it adds a nice personal touch. Especially in large companies as it means the client can contact that individual specifically. The name of the individual of the name of the business itself is usually the most prominent part of a business card. The name of the company should always appear on a business card, an organisation that has a recognisable logo may de-emphasise the name of the business in terms of size and placement but it is an essential element to the card. The address is the next important factor to a business card design, whether it is a physical address or a mailing dress this is equally important. If the company is mainly an online company than a physical address may not be as important to include. If there is a mailing address and a physical one then it should be made apparent that they are different. Phone numbers are up next as being needed on business cards, the order your numbers should run in should be voice, fax and then mobile. It is important to remember to add the area codes to your numbers and extensions otherwise your numbers are useless! Email addresses are then the next part of a business card design, this is very important if this is the companies preferred form of contact or that it is a web-based business. If it isn't then it is not essential to have the email address on the card. Web addresses can also be added and the http:// preceding the URL can be missed out. Companies without a major logo may want to add some type of illustration or design to the card to make it stand out more. Also adding titles to individual's names such as 'CEO' or 'Manager' can make smaller companies appear larger than they are. If you manage to include all this information on your cards then you can pretty much guarantee some business! It's that simple!
