After nine years Kenny Chesney is ready to release another greatest hits compilation. The country singer's Greatest Hits: Vol. 2 will arrive May 19th and will feature a dozen of Chesney's hit singles as well as a few collaborations. Some songs fans can expect on Chesney's Greatest Hits: Vol. 2 are "When The Sun Goes Down" (with Uncle Kracker), "Down the Road" (with Mac McAnally), "Young," "Living In fast Forward," "Summertime," "There Goes My Life," "Beer in Mexico," "Anything But Mine," "Never Wanted Nothing More." "I Go back," "The Good Stuff," "I'm Alive" (with Dave Matthews)," "Be As You Are" and "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems." In addition, "Out Last Night," a song Chesney recently penned with Brett James that appeared on Songs From An Old Blue Chair will make the track listing. "We've been all kinds of places musically. And it was a little hard knowing how to pull it all together," Chesney said on his Web site, although fans will likely snatch the album up immediately! Although it has been nine years since he last released a greatest hits album, it has been a lot longer since Kenny Chesney broke into the country music business! After graduating from high school, Chesney moved from his tiny hometown of Luttrell, Tennessee to Nashville and soon became the resident performer at the honky-tonk club the Turf, located in the historic district of Music City. Chesney soon singed a publishing contract with Acuff-Rose followed by a recording contract with Capricorn. The label released his debut album, the aptly titled In My Wildest Dreams, in 1993 but then the label (which wasn't a country label) sadly folded, resulting in minimal promotion of Chesney's album. In My Wildest Dreams nonetheless managed to see 100,000 copies and caused a bidding war among labels. Chesney eventually signed to RCA subsidiary BNA and released All I Need to Know, which spawned top ten singles "She's Got It All" and "That's Why I'm Here," in 1995. Kenny Chesney's breakthrough came in the form of 1999's Everywhere I Go, which arrived after 1996's Me and You and 1997's I Will Stand and sold over two million copies on the strength of number one singles, "How Forever Feels" and "You Had Me From Hello." Following the smash success of Everywhere I Go, Chesney released his first greatest hits album, which promptly became his second straight double-platinum release, in 2000. Chesney's next album, No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem spawned four top ten singles that same year and became his biggest success. Chesney's 2004 album When the Sun Goes Down garnered Chesney his first win in the Entertainer of the Year category at the Country Music Awards, an honor which he has since been awarded no less than three times. Chesney is up for Entertainer of the Year at this year's show, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas April 5, and if he wins it will be for the fifth consecutive time!
