Continuing her trend of churning out ridiculously catchy pop confections like "Just Dance" and "Poker Face," Lady GaGa unveiled her new clip for the song "LoveGame" on the heels of kicking off her Fame Ball tour in San Diego on March 12. "This is all part of a movement. My artistry is much deeper than fashion or anything like that. I love pop music, and I want to bring it back. People are truly hungry for this," Lady Gaga told MTV News, continuing to describe the video: "I wanted to really bring forth the girl that I was four years ago, and I wanted to put it in the setting of the underground subway. I worked with [video director] Joseph Kahn, and he did an amazing job. He didn't just capture the fashion; he captures the artist." "LoveGame" broke into the Billboard Hot 100 last week, giving Lady GaGa her third single on the chart, as "Poker Face" and "Just Dance" are already in the top ten. What is the recipe for Lady GaGa's pop success? According to the pop princess, "we all used to believe in that very artistic lie that pop music tells us. And we want to believe that again. And it is back. I promise you. It's happening right now. My work is honest and strong, and I couldn't be more happy to see it reach so many people. There's really nothing else I can say." Pop permeated the life of Lady GaGa long before she was known by her famous moniker; the singer was greatly influenced by glam rockers like David Bower and Queen as well as '80s dance pop stars like Madonna and Michael Jackson while growing up as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in Manhattan. She attended Convent of the Sacred Heart before attending New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Lady GaGa got her first gig in the music industry writing songs for Interscope Records, penning tracks for pop artists like the Pussycat Dolls, before launching a solo career. After issuing the infectious single "Just Dance," Lady Gaga unveiled her debut album, The Fame, in 2008. The theatrical singer, songwriter and pianist earned a Grammy nomination for her debut album, which was released in the U.K. to similar fame in early 2009. Just Dance is already double platinum in Canada and Australia and is gyrating its way up the charts in the States. Lady GaGa recently told Billboard.com that she was "so mental and sleepless and excited" for her 23-date Fame Ball tour, which wraps up April 11 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Although Lady GaGa said she enjoyed her stint on tour opening for the Dolls, she revealed that she is more than ready for a tour of her own. "This is going to be, like, the ultimate creative orgasm for me 'cause I'm ready to move on. I'm not restricted to a certain structure for my show anymore. No limitations. I'm free," the Los Angeles-based singer gushed. Lady Gaga tickets are going fast so get yours today!
