The way a business communicates with itself is incredibly important. Unfortunately some of us work jobs that mean we need to stay in touch with HQ, even when we're on holiday or away from the office. When trying to identify new business communication solutions, why not consider pagers? They are efficient, instant, two way communication devices, allowing the same degree of useful functionality as mobile phones without the unnecessary extras. Two way pagers compete with mobile phones in the sense that they allow users to both send and receive text-based communications. Pagers are excellent communication devices; cheap, simple, reliable, easy-to-use and don't take a huge amount of charging. Although they seemed to have dipped in popularity somewhat, there is just as much reason to use a pager today as ever before. There are three different types of pagers available. The most common and affordable are numerical only. Users will have to create number codes to tell other users who to call or what the message is about. They also have clock, alarm and predefined alphanumeric messages. Alphanumeric pagers allow users to send and receive standard text messages, with a variety of text and numbers. Messages sent and delivered will be just like the text messages, which are normally sent from mobile phones, although pictures, videos, screensavers or ringtones cannot be included. The third type are two-way pagers, which are the most advanced pagers available. They are the ideal alternative to mobile phones when you need to keep in touch with colleagues, especially as they do not contain additional services of no value to your business, such as games, pictures or video. Local pagers are also available. They function well in defined areas, as they needs to be in the range of a network transmitter. These can be useful for some businesses, but for many it would defeat the purpose, since the whole idea was to be able to reach staff and colleagues, wherever they are in the world. Increasingly we are living in a 24/7 business environment, where news travels fast and being the early bird becomes even more important if you want to catch that worm. Two-way paging allows individuals within (or outside) a business to communicate instantly, at any time of the day, in any part of the world. More and more businesses are realising that pagers and paging are more appropriate for communication than mobile phones in many instances.
