A mother found a strange cell phone in the possession of her 11-year old daughter. On that cell phone, she discovered images of her preteen daughter in shockingly explicit positions with a middle-aged man and woman. The girl admitted that she has been spending a lot of time and having sex with the married couple, from late elementary into the middle school years. They gave her the cell phone so they could keep in contact. The outraged mother was determined to find out who were these horrible people and have them prosecuted to the full extent of the law. She has heard of reverse cell phone directories, and now was definitely the time to use one. The reverse cell phone lookup gave her the information she needed: she now knew the names, ages and the address of her daughter’s abusers. The police accompanied her to the couple’s home and although they initially denied involvement with the girl, the evidence spoke for itself. They were arrested and charged. The abusers are currently on trial. The little girl testified against them. She has been in therapy and is doing well. She is thankful for living in the time of reverse cell-phone directories, which helped her mother to look up the offenders and get the situation under control. Had her mother not found the cell phone, she may not have said anything for years to come, because she “wasn’t supposed to”.
