Seal has a massive 14-city North American spring tour mapped out for this spring that will be taking him to cities across the continent. Starting on March 31, he will pack his bags and head to Minneapolis for his first performance. The trek is scheduled to continue through early May, and he will make stops in New York, Biloxi, Albuquerque and Los Angeles. Also on the books is a two-night Canadian run. His most recent album, Soul, hit the shelves in November 2008 and was produced by David Foster. The tracklist covers some classic soul numbers like: James Brown's "It's a Man's World," Al Green's "Here I Am" and Ben E. King's "Stand by Me." It has won praise from both fans and critics alike, eager to embrace Seal's smooth and cool new style. Seal first made an entrance into the music world when he emerged from the house music scene that was all the rage in England during the early 1990s. Initially he took on the role of acid house performer before he settled into a sound that can best be described as a fusion of soul, folk, pop, dance and rock. And this time he broke out of Britain's borders and made an impact on the opposite side of the Atlantic as well. His first major success in the United States was the single, "Crazy," off of his debut self-titled album. It ultimately achieved the number seven mark on the charts and introduced Seal as a formidable rising star in the music market. Not wishing to push his luck, Seal took his time composing and recording material for his sophomore effort. It arrived in the summer of 1994 and bore the same self-titled name as his first album. Seal (the second) did well upon its release, thanks in part to the success of the American Top 40 hit "Prayer for the Dying." But it really wasn't until the following year that it made a significant impact on the market. "Kiss From a Rose" was featured on the Batman Forever soundtrack and went onto become a number one pop single in the U.S. spending an impressive 12 weeks at the top of the adult contemporary charts. This sent his second album into multi-platinum status, creating a wave of popularity for Seal across the globe. Seal set to work on Human Being, which was subsequently released in 1998, with Seal IV following five years later. With such an impressive following, Seal decided to release the career-spanning Best: 1991-2004 in October 2004 with a live CD/DVD Live in Paris arriving in 2005. Fans were thrilled when Seal teamed up with his supermodel wife, Heidi Klum, on the 2007 album System. Soul was a step in a different direction as the classic soul covers encompassed a whole new sound and style for the singer. Catch Seal live at one of his upcoming performances this springtime!
