By: Alex Gwen Thomson

By just providing training to the senior management and the functional and process heads is not going to take an organization anywhere. Six Sigma requires that the quality control aspects need the supervision of Master Black Belts or the quality managers; hence a batch that is responsible for quality in the organization must be provided the Master Black belt training in Six Sigma implementation. The will be the persons who are responsible for achievement and measurement of the achievement of the benefits under Six Sigma. The will be required to maintain budgets, quantify savings, train others including the functional mangers and other employees, analyze and review the progress on every milestone, reach best practices all the while ensuring the proper usage of all available methods, techniques and tools. The training for Master Black Belt quality managers always include all the possible information of the concepts, methods and tools used in adoption of Six Sigma. Normally the training is of three to four weeks duration depending upon the pace of the instructor.

Project leaders or the Black Belts form the next line of soldiers in the adoption of Six Sigma in an organization. The usually have inter or intra departmental functions and they are the one who are in the field collecting data, analyzing performance, and usually act as a point of contact for each improvement project.

The training of the Green Belts is quite similar to that of Black Belt training, but much shorter in time because of les details provided.
